1. With the wire cramped between leather pads about 2m away, make 4 loose turns.

2. Let go and reverse 4 turns to take off the twist.

3. Make a few close turns back over the first loose windings.

4. Hold the close turns and the end of the wire gently, and turn until the wire is twisted evenly together
